I took the opportunity to call in to Eden on Tuesday and was very impressed with the work that has been ongoing since the winter freeze. The vegetables planted in the spring are looking fantastic as are the potatoes and you can almost see the runner beans growing at a rate of knots. The strawberries taste superb, full of flavour and a welcome treat at lunchtime. The new hens seem to have settled well into their repositioned run and henhouse and Nick reported they had layed a record number of eggs in the last week. When I called in everyone was taking a well earned break at the picnic tables, the thermometer was showing a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. A real contrast to January when we fought snow drifts and frozen pipes to feed and water the Eden pigs. Well done everyone a brilliant project.
