August 27th - Heritage Group

We left Doo'cot View at 9.45am for Banff Day Services - we boarded the bus at 10am and headed for Dufftown. When we arrived there the Spirit of Speyside was on the platform waiting. The train was built in 1959 and as we boarded the train bound for Keith we seen lots of things from the window. 30 minutes later we arrived in Keith - we had our lunch on the bus in the station car park before heading home, it was a super day. by Kathleen Brown.

Kathleen enjoying the view from the train.

Ethel. first trip on a Train, she loved the trip, the view from the train was better than the view from a bus, she passed mountains, lakes, Donkeys. Sheep, Highland Cattle. she would like to go on longer journey as her first trip was only 30 minutes.
There will be no stopping Ethel now (we wonder where she will go next)

We miss you Ashley!

Ashley was with us for a few weeks in June visiting from the Anna Ritchie School. She really enjoyed herself and made a lot of new friends. We look forward to seeing her soon again at B.D.S.

MY NEW WHEELCHAIR

A WEEK AGO I GOT A DAY OFF FROM MY DAY SERVICES CLASS. MY MUM, AUNTIE MAVIS & MYSELF DROVE THROUGH TO ABERDEEN TO PICK UP MY NEW WHEELCHAIR. WE WAS THERE FOR 3 HOURS, JUST TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK WITH IT. EVERYBODY I HAVE SEEN SINCE HAVE SAID HOW COOL MY CHAIR IS. I FEEL A LOT MORE COMFORTABLE IN IT & MY STAFF HAVE ALSO SAID IT IS A LOT EASIER TO MOVE ME AROUND. MY CHAIR ALSO RECLINES BACK WHICH IS HANDY IF I AM TIRED. OVERALL I AM "FAIR TRICKIT" WITH MY NEW CHAIR. EVERYBODY BETTER LOOK OUT BECAUSE I AM ALSO GETTING A NEW ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR WHICH I WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE MYSELF. THAT SHOULD KEEP MY STAFF ON THEIR TOES TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ME.

Banff Service Users Management Committee - Well Done!

The Macduff branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution receved a £500 boost from the Banff Service Users Management Committee. The money was raised from the committee's Spring doo auction. Colin Dey, of the committee, handed over the cheque to Coxswain Andrew (Chassey) Findlay at the lifeboat unit's Thursday night meet, watched by members of the committee and the lifeboat crew. Members received a demonnstration on how the boat is launched and saw it in action around the harbour.
